Terms of Service

By accessing or using ResumeAgentics ("Service", "Platform", "we", "us", or "our"), including our website at https://resumeai.com, mobile applications, browser extensions, and any related services, you ("User", "you", or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ResumeAgentics. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or an in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

You must be at least 16 years of age to use ResumeAgentics. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

To access certain features, you must create an account using a valid email address or through a supported OAuth provider (Google or GitHub). You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information.
• Maintain the security of your account credentials and not share them with others.
• Immediately notify us at support@resumeai.com of any unauthorized access to your account.
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

Guest mode: You may use limited features without an account via guest mode. Guest data is stored locally in your browser and is not backed up or recoverable. Creating an account is required to save resumes to the cloud, access AI tools, and export documents.

ResumeAgentics provides an AI-powered career toolkit that includes, but is not limited to:

• Resume Builder — Create, edit, and format professional resumes using 60+ templates with real-time preview.
• AI Resume Review — Automated resume scoring (0–100) with section-by-section analysis and ATS compatibility checks.
• AI Career Coach — Bullet point optimization with achievement-focused rewriting and confidence scoring.
• Job Matcher — Resume-to-job-description matching with skill gap analysis and keyword optimization.
• Resume Tailor — One-click resume customization for specific job postings.
• Cold Email Writer — AI-generated outreach emails and LinkedIn messages.
• Interview Prep — AI mock interviews with STAR method coaching and role-specific scenarios.
• LinkedIn Optimizer — Profile alignment and optimization tools.
• Resume Chatbot — Natural language resume editing with live preview.
• Cover Letter Generator — AI-powered cover letter creation and optimization.
• Resume Import — Upload and parse existing resumes from PDF, DOCX, or LinkedIn URL.
• Export — Download resumes in PDF, DOCX, and Markdown formats.

Features are subject to change. We may add, modify, or discontinue features with reasonable notice to users.

ResumeAgentics offers the following subscription tiers:

• Free — Limited to 1 resume, basic templates, PDF export with watermark, and no AI tool access. No payment required.
• Pro (AI Pro) — $9/month (or $79/year billed annually). Includes unlimited resumes, all 60+ premium templates, 200 AI credits/month, all AI tools, watermark-free exports in PDF and DOCX, version history, and priority support. Includes a 7-day free trial.
• Pro Max — $19/month (or $159/year billed annually). Everything in Pro plus 500 AI credits/month. Includes a 7-day free trial.
• Enterprise — Custom pricing. Everything in Pro plus unlimited AI credits, team management, custom branding, API access, SSO integration, and dedicated account management. Contact sales for details.

Prices are in US Dollars and exclusive of applicable taxes. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days advance notice to existing subscribers. Price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

All payments are processed securely through Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. ResumeAgentics does not store your credit card information on its servers.

Free trial: Pro and Pro Max plans include a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan and your payment method will be charged.

Recurring billing: Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis depending on the plan you selected. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel.

AI credits: AI credits reset at the start of each billing cycle. Unused credits do not roll over to the next period.

Failed payments: If a payment fails, we will attempt to charge your payment method again. After repeated failures, your subscription may be downgraded to the Free tier and premium features will be restricted.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your subscription settings or via the Stripe Customer Portal. Upon cancellation:

• Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period.
• You retain full access to paid features until the period expires.
• After the period ends, your account reverts to the Free plan.
• Your resumes and data remain accessible, but premium features will be locked.

Refunds: Subscription fees are non-refundable once charged. If you cancel mid-cycle, you will not receive a prorated refund for the remaining days. We encourage you to use the free trial to evaluate the Service before committing to a paid plan.

Exceptions: Refund requests due to billing errors, unauthorized charges, or extended service outages may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@resumeai.com within 14 days of the charge.

Reactivation: If you cancel and your billing period has not yet expired, you may reactivate your subscription at any time to prevent downgrade.

ResumeAgentics uses artificial intelligence (powered by third-party language models) to generate, enhance, and optimize resume content, cover letters, emails, and other career materials. By using our AI features, you acknowledge and agree that:

• AI-generated content is provided as a suggestion and starting point. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all AI output before use.
• AI may occasionally produce inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate content. ResumeAgentics does not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or suitability of AI-generated content for any specific purpose.
• You must not use AI-generated content to misrepresent your qualifications, experience, skills, or credentials. Your resume must truthfully reflect your actual background.
• AI-generated career advice (coaching, interview prep, job matching) is informational only and does not constitute professional career counseling.
• We do not guarantee that using our AI tools will result in job interviews, offers, or any specific career outcome.

Your content: You retain full ownership of all personal information, resume content, cover letters, and other materials you create or upload to ResumeAgentics ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and display your User Content solely to provide the Service to you.

Our content: All templates, designs, UI components, AI models, algorithms, branding, logos, and other materials provided by ResumeAgentics are our intellectual property or that of our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Service.

Template license: When you use a ResumeAgentics template to create a resume, you receive a personal, non-transferable license to use that template for your own career documents. You may not redistribute, resell, or sublicense templates.

Exported documents: Resumes and documents you export (PDF, DOCX, Markdown) are yours to use freely for job applications, networking, and personal purposes.

You agree not to use ResumeAgentics to:

• Create fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive resumes that misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or employment history.
• Generate content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or that promotes discrimination or violence.
• Attempt to circumvent subscription limits, abuse free trials, or create multiple accounts to avoid payment.
• Use automated bots, scrapers, or other tools to access the Service in a manner that exceeds normal human usage.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or AI models of the Service.
• Upload malicious files, viruses, or content designed to disrupt the Service.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute any part of the Service, including templates and AI-generated content, without written permission.
• Violate any applicable local, national, or international laws while using the Service.

Violation of this policy may result in immediate account suspension or termination without notice or refund.

Your privacy is important to us. Our handling of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Key highlights:

• We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest) to protect your data.
• We comply with GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable data protection regulations.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
• Your resume content is never used to train or improve AI models.
• You may request export or deletion of your data at any time by contacting support@resumeai.com.

Third-party processors: We use trusted third-party services to operate the Platform, including Stripe (payments), cloud hosting providers (data storage), and AI model providers (content generation). These providers are bound by data processing agreements that meet applicable regulatory standards.

By you: You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting support@resumeai.com. Upon deletion, your personal data and resumes will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

By us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, without prior notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or if required by law. In the event of termination for cause, you are not entitled to a refund of any prepaid fees.

Effect of termination: Upon termination, your license to use the Service ceases immediately. We recommend exporting your resumes before account deletion. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will remain in effect.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

ResumeAgentics does not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
• AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or free of bias.
• Use of the Service will result in job interviews, employment offers, or any specific career outcome.
• Resumes created with the Service will pass all applicant tracking systems (ATS).
• Exported documents will render identically across all devices and software.

You acknowledge that career outcomes depend on many factors beyond resume quality, including market conditions, qualifications, interview performance, and employer preferences.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ResumeAgentics, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of employment opportunities or career prospects.
• Loss of data, revenue, or profits.
• Damages arising from reliance on AI-generated content.
• Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your account.
• Service interruptions or downtime.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO ResumeAgentics IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ResumeAgentics and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
• Content you create, upload, or distribute through the Service, including fraudulent or misleading resume content.
• Your violation of any third-party rights or applicable laws.
• Unauthorized use of your account resulting from your failure to maintain security.

The Service integrates with or relies on third-party services, including but not limited to:

• Stripe — Payment processing and subscription management.
• AI Model Providers (OpenAI, Anthropic) — AI content generation and analysis.
• OAuth Providers (Google, GitHub) — Authentication and sign-in.
• LinkedIn — Profile import functionality.

Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. ResumeAgentics is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Informal resolution: Before filing any formal dispute, you agree to contact us at legal@resumeai.com and attempt to resolve the matter informally within 30 days.

Arbitration: Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be settled by binding arbitration in San Francisco, California, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall be conducted in English. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and enforceable in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Class action waiver: You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis only. You waive any right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative proceeding.

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, features, or legal requirements. When we make material changes:

• We will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
• We will notify registered users via email or an in-app notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
• Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. If you disagree with any changes, you should discontinue use of the Service and cancel your subscription.
